Definition
In mathematics, the radicand is the number or expression inside the radical symbol (the square root, cube root, or any other root symbol). It represents the value that you are taking the root of.
For example:
In sqrt(16), the radicand is 16, because it is the number under the square root symbol.
In cubert(27), the radicand is 27, because it is the number under the cube root symbol.
The radicand is what you are finding the root of in a radical expression.
